BLACKBURN Rovers have announced the capture of 20-year-old midfielder Jack Byrne on a season-long loan from Premier League giants Manchester City.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international spent last season with Dutch top division side SC Cambuur, becoming the club's youngest ever scorer when he netted in a 4-1 win over Excelsior.

Dublin-born Byrne won rave reviews from Patrick Vieira, then in charge of City's Development Squad, after impressing on a pre-season tour of Croatia in 2013.
He also caught the eye in the Under-19 UEFA Youth League against European superpowers including Bayern Munich.

His becomes the fifth signing so far for new Rovers boss Owen Coyle, who said earlier this week: "I’ve spoken before about the young one we’re trying to bring in on loan; we’re excited about that.
"That will be, for me, an exciting young talent that can certainly add to the squad we have."
