MILLWALL are trying to sign outgoing Rovers midfielder Chris Taylor on a permanent deal.

Taylor, along with Simon Eastwood, Matt Kilgallon, Lee Williamson, Chris Brown, Simeon Jackson and Nathan Delfouneso, will leave Rovers once his contract expires on June 30.

And Millwall manager Neil Harris has admitted he is in talks to seal a deal for the 29-year-old.

Taylor had a one season stay at the Lions before joining Rovers in the summer of 2013.

And he re-joined the League One outfit in March after making what will prove to be his 73rd and final appearance at Ewood Park.

Harris said: “I would still like to sign Chris but he is very much in demand. We are still hopeful and we are very much in the mix.

“He came to us from a higher division, earning good money, and has lived up north all his life apart from the very successful year he had a 12-month contract with us.

“But he knows me and what I want to do and has had two very good spells here. Things will become clearer in the next few days.”
