DERBY County boss Darren Wassall has responded to speculation linking his side with a summer swoop for Blackburn Rovers captain Grant Hanley.

Reports at the weekend stated that the Rams are lining up a £2.5m bid for the Scotland international centre-back.

But when asked whether Derby, who will attempt to overturn a 3-0 deficit in their Championship play-off semi-final second leg at Hull City tomorrow night, are interested in Hanley, Wassall said: “I haven’t been in talks with anybody.

“The only talks I have been in is with the players that are here and making sure we are right for tomorrow (Tuesday).

“These are the players we have got, these are the players that have got us into the play-offs and these are the players have got to go and turn the result around.

“I have said all along, I believe in these players.”
