CORRY Evans has admitted he needs to add more goals to his game – and help take the burden off top-scorer Jordan Rhodes.

Evans has scored twice in 76 appearances for Rovers since his £600,000 switch from Hull City in August 2013.

But the  midfielder did go close to adding to his tally in last Saturday’s victory at Preston North End when he cracked a shot against the post that led to the opening goal of the game.

Evans said: “When I hit it I thought ‘this is going to have a great chance’ and obviously it hit the post and bounced about a bit.

“I’ve had a couple of chances this season and I’ve been working on finishing in training, doing extra shooting with the lads.

“It’d be nice to help take some of the burden off Jordan. Everybody needs to chip in and score more goals.”

Rhodes’ match-winning penalty against Preston was his ninth goal of the season – more than half of the 17 Rovers have scored in the Championship.
