BLACKBURN Rovers trio Danny Guthrie, Fode Koita and Matt Kilgallon have not recovered in time for tomorrow’s home game against Ipswich Town.

But Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has confirmed that his depleted ranks will be boosted by the return of Chris Taylor.

Midfielder Guthrie came off early on against Hull City on Saturday with a thigh injury while striker Koita (leg) and defender Kilgallon (hamstring) did not travel.

And Bowyer said: “I don’t think Danny will make it but because of the fact that he came off so early, it’s probably not as bad as what it could have been, and if he doesn’t make Saturday, then I certainly expect him to be right after the international break.

“We don’t think Fode will be ready either, which is disappointing, so we just have to make sure he’s ready for after the international break.

“Matt’s nursing his hamstring along and we certainly expect him to feature after the international break.”

Midfielder Taylor stepped up his comeback from long-term injury by scoring for the second successive match on Monday in Rovers Under-21s’ win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

And Bowyer joked: “I don’t think I’ve got a choice in including him! He’s telling me he’s got two in two.

“We’re delighted he’s back, he’s been missed on the training ground and in the squad, and we’ve just got to make sure he keeps himself right and works on his recovery now.”

Rovers will have a two-week break after tomorrow’s match.

And Bowyer said: “The break came at a good time for us last time because we were able to get some work in and get people up to speed, and this time it will give people chance to recover and go again.”
