JORDAN Rhodes is ‘desperate’ to return against Bolton Wanderers, according to Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer.

Rhodes, who has scored four goals in the last three Ewood Park clashes between the sides, has missed Rovers’ last two outings with an ankle injury.

But it is hoped he will take his place on the bench at least tonight after making ‘inroads’ this week.

Bowyer said: “The injury has taken a little bit longer than what we hoped but at the same time it could have been a lot worse – he could have been out for months with the nature of the challenge.

“He’s working ever so hard and, knowing Jordan as we do, the number of chances we’ve created in the last two games, he’ll be desperate to get back playing.

“I think that’s been his motivation to get fit – the number of chances we’ve been creating he could quite easily have had six goals by now.”

Adam Henley and Jason Lowe will return tonight but Chris Taylor and Chris Brown remain sidelined.
