BLACKBURN Rovers will take on six fellow north-west teams during pre-season.

Gary Bowyer’s side will make the short trips to Accrington Stanley, Rochdale, Tranmere Rovers, Oldham Athletic and Bury before rounding off their preparations for the 2015-16 Championship campaign at home to Wigan Athletic.

Rovers kick-off their summer schedule at League Two neighbours Accrington Stanley on Saturday, July 11 (3pm) before flying out to Portugal for a warm-weather training camp from July 13-19.

There are no currently no plans to play a match in Portugal.

On Rovers’ return to England they will head to League One’s Rochdale on Tuesday, July 21 (7.45pm), Conference Premier new boys Tranmere Rovers on Friday, July 24 (7.45pm), Oldham Athletic on Saturday, July 25 (3pm) and then another League One outfit, newly promoted Bury, on Tuesday, July 28 (7.30pm).

Rovers will then welcome Wigan Athletic, who have been relegated from the Championship into League One, to Ewood Park on Saturday, August 1.

The new Championship season is scheduled to kick-off on Saturday, August 8.

The club’s U21s side’s pre-season programme has also been confirmed.

They will travel to Burscough on Saturday, July 11 (3pm), Knaresborough Town on Saturday, July 18 (2pm), Bamber Bridge on Tuesday, July 28 (7pm), Chorley on Friday, July 31 (7.30pm) and AFC Fylde on Tuesday, August 4 (7.30pm).
