BLACKBURN Rovers were crowned champions 20 years ago today. Can you see the club going close to scaling such heights again? Below our panelists deliver their verdicts. Now tell us what you think.

WINNING the Premiership alongside such elite teams is an outstanding achievement and not something that will be repeated in the modern game by Blackburn or by any such ‘small town’ club.

Rovers, and Jack Walker, were ahead of the time by investing in football, but investing wisely. The crop of players that Kenny Dalglish brought in were hardly household names.

While it will never happen again, it HAS happened and Blackburn Rovers are firmly fixed in the record books.

TIMES have changed and what Rovers achieved will never be repeated if football continues in its present format.

Jack Walker was an anomaly, a passionate fan with finances to realise his and our dreams.

It was like winning the lottery, but it isn’t going to happen again.

Sweet memories have led to bitter tastes in recent years, perhaps we were spoiled. We have to come terms with our situation and hope lessons have been learned so that one day in the distant future we might just creep back into the Premier League.

SOME would tell you that Gary Bowyer’s dismissal would be quickly followed by promotion and a giddying march up the Premier League. Some look upon the 1995 win as: we lived through a golden age and will always have great memories of it. But that was then, this is now.

The £25m outlay between 1992 and 1995 would have to be something approaching £700m now.

Given that Rovers are under a spending embargo, and falling further behind competitors, I cannot see a violent swing in fortunes.
