BLACKBURN Rovers' three-game U21s Premier League winning run came to an end as they lost 4-2 to Newcastle United at St James Park on Monday night.
Rovers fell behind when Adam Armstrong found space and fired home from the edge of the penalty area on 18 minutes.

The Newcastle forward got his second of the game five minutes before the interval when he put a finishing touch to a neat passing move.
And it should have been three on the stroke of half-tme but Facundo Ferreyra missed a glorious chance.
Rovers were back in the contest early in the second half though as Rovers midfielder, and Magpies supporter, David Carson halved the deficit six minutes after the break when he curled home.
But the Newcastle roared back and after Armstrong had gone close, they made it 3-1 just before the hour when Callum Roberts struck.
Subsitute Lewis Mansell then reduced the arrears once again for Rovers when he forced the ball home on 67 minutes only for Oliver Kemen to make it 4-2 just two minutes later.
Rovers end their league season at home to Bolton Wanderers on Thursday at Brockhall (2pm).
