BLACKBURN Rovers boss Gary Bowyer praised his side’s resilience after they extended their unbeaten away run to seven games with a 0-0 draw at Reading this afternoon.
Neither side created many chances at the Madejski Stadium and Bowyer was pleased with the way his side defended, despite losing four centre halves to injury in recent weeks.
“I thought it was a very hard fought battling draw from us and when you look at the squad and the injuries an enormous amount of credit goes to our players for putting in that kind of effort,” Bowyer said.
“To go away from home and keep a clean sheet anywhere is a great effort.
“I think that’s seven unbeaten away from home now.
“Was it a classic game? No it wasn’t, but there were lots of elements that were really positive in terms of the resilience the players showed.
“Probably the only negative of the game for us was that we weren’t threatening enough going forward.”
