TOMMY Spurr will make his comeback from injury in Blackburn Rovers' U21s Premier League clash with Reading at Ewood Park tonight (7pm) – which is free to all supporters.

The left-back has not played for Gary Bowyer’s senior side so far this season after sustaining a groin injury on the eve of the Championship opener against Cardiff City.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer said: "We are delighted. He's worked hard and he's going to get a runout tonight and we are all looking forward to that.

"Hopefully he can come through the game and then adds competition to Markus Olsson who has been absolutely outstanding for us.

"Tommy is a great person, so we are looking forward to him coming through tonight and joining in with the squad again.

"Fortunately he's been rehabbed properly and he's come back quicker than what we probably expected."

Spurr will be the the sole first team player in Rovers U21s boss Eric Kinder’s line-up tonight.

Only the Jack Walker lower stand will be open for the match.

Rovers: Crump, Daly, Spurr, Tanner, Lavelle, Lenihan, Mahoney, Bauress, Rittenberg, Carson, Cham. Subs: Doyle, Williams, Preston, Wall, Joel, Jorge.
