BLACKBURN Rovers star Jordan Rhodes has been hailed as the best striker in the Championship by the manager of today’s opponents Wigan Athletic.
Uwe Rosler brings his Latics side to Ewood Park this afternoon and he has no doubt who Rovers’ biggest dangerman will be.
Former Manchester City forward Rosler said: “Jordan Rhodes is sometimes not visible on the pitch but he only needs two or three touches and the ball is in the back of the net.
“That is a gift that costs a lot of money!
“As a defender, you think you have him under control, that’s not hurting you much.
“But the way they play, the ball will eventually come into the box, there will be set-pieces and he has a nose for goals.
“In that aspect he is probably the best striker in this league at this moment.”
Rovers beat Wigan 4-3 when the teams clashed on the final day of last season.
And Rosler said: “Blackburn will be a big test for us.
“They will put us under great physical pressure from balls by their goalkeeper like they did last year.
“And we have to do a lot better defensively than we did last year.
“If we can do that, we have enough firepower to score goals and win the game.”
