BLACKBURN Rovers did not comment last night on reports that top scorer Jordan Rhodes is set to sign a new long-term contract with the club.
Talks over a new deal for the prolific striker, however, have taken place.
Rhodes has scored 16 goals this season and 44 in 82 appearances for Rovers since his club record £8m move from Huddersfield Town in August 2012.
But the 24-year-old, who has three years remaining on his current contract, has not scored in any of his last nine games going into Sunday’s visit of Burnley to Ewood Park.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has a number of injury concerns ahead of the East Lancashire derby.
Centre-back Matt Kilgallon, who came off in Saturday’s defeat at Bolton Wanderers, underwent medical assessment yesterday.
He has sustained a groin strain and will be treated daily in a bid to get him fit for the Clarets clash.
