BLACKBURN Rovers boss Gary Bowyer will turn his attention to signing a striker after yesterday completing a move for France U21 international midfielder Bryan Dabo.

Dabo will spend the rest of the season on loan at Rovers from French side Montpellier.

And Bowyer now hopes to add to the capture of the 21-year-old by strengthening his forward line.

Luke Varney, who was left out of Leeds’ squad for their game with Ipswich last night, is one player who has been linked with a move to Rovers.

Dabo’s international clearance had not come through in time for him to feature in the 2-2 against Barnsley last night.

Bowyer said of his new signing: “He’s a positive lad, both on and off the pitch, and he brings a different dimension to what we have already got in midfield,” said Bowyer, who has released youngster Raheem Hanley.

“He can run forward, he can attack the space very well, he can receive the ball ever so well under pressure and we are hoping that he settles in quickly and that he’ll be someone that can excite the fans."
