BLACKBURN Rovers have a great draw in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. A trip to Liverpool will be a fantastic occasion for the players, staff and supporters.

It is a shame the game will not be at Ewood Park but it does come 20 years since we went to Anfield and won the league.

We had a bad result that day but a great ending and let’s hope we are celebrating again come full time on the day. It is a game Rovers can go into with confidence after their performance against Stoke City on Saturday.

The boys played very well. It is always difficult to go a goal down but they responded brilliantly and to win in the style they did was fantastic.

The challenge now is to carry that on into the league campaign. For the fans, they can perhaps start dreaming about Wembley in the cup but the players have to be careful not to let it affect their performances.

It can be difficult for players to concentrate on league matters when there is a big game around the corner but they have to be professional.

They must be careful not to take their eye off the ball and focus too much on Liverpool and the cup game as there are plenty of league matches between now and then.

I am sure Gary Bowyer will instil that into them and make sure they remain focused until the time is right to get excited for the Anfield trip.

The players who performed so well against Stoke, and in previous rounds, have now given Gary a real headache. Josh King was excellent and deserved his hat-trick while I thought Craig Conway came on and did well.

The best way for those players to make sure they are picked against Liverpool is to play well between now and then and to show to Gary that they deserve that chance.
