REJUVENATED Padiham made it three wins from the last five games to extinguished any linguring doubts of relegation with all three poinst against St Helens.

Following their surprise midweek win over Barnoldswick, the Saints could not repat the feat against a Storks side that has now taken 10 out of a possible 15 points from their last five games.

Sam Heap put the home side ahead on 27 minutes after Ed O’Neil’s effort hit the post and he made no mistake.

Heap’s second on 38 minutes was a similiar to his first – this time following up from a Nathan Egan shot which was tipped in to his path by keeper Chris Brinksman.

Chris Luby gave Saints hope with a goal on 55 minutes but when Padiham sub Martin Trickett scored with his first touch in the 74th minutes, the points were save for the Storks.
