PADIHAM failed to maximise the advantage of playing virtually the whole match against 10 men as the slipped to defeat against Glossop North End.

The visitors had the worst possible start when Sam Hind elbowed John Blackley in the face with just two minutes on the clock leaving the referee with no other option than to send him off.

But the Storks could not make the most of their one-man advantage and instead conceded a soft penalty which proved to be the only goal of the game.

Adam Oakes converted from the spot on the half hour mark for Glossop who then frustrated their hosts who battled to get something out of the game.

After the break, the vistors keeper, Ben Proctor, was in excellent form but Padiham really should have levelled.

Proctor saved with his legs to thwart Lewis Edwards and from the resulting corner, Damion Morrions headed wide.

Padiham’s best chance fell to an unmarked Stuart Telfor with just five minutes remaining but he blasted over from close range. The Storks have now lost four of their last five games.
