PADIHAM are celebrating a case of ‘job done’ after their Evo-Stik League First Division North survival was guaranteed.

The Storks, playing their first season at that level, were favourites to beat the drop but safety was guaranteed when Wakefield announced that they were withdrawing from the league as of the end of the season.

Ossett Town are bottom of the table, 12 points behind Padiham with just three games to play meaning they will also drop out of the league.

Wakefield have been forced to quit the league after their agreement to play at Belle Vue, the town’s rugby league ground, ended. They will plat at Emley next year.
