West Didsbury and Chorlton 1 Colne 1

Colne carved out a creditable draw with an injury hit side that once again gave several fringe players their chance of a first team place.

The Reds took the lead on 32 minutes when a long ball out of defence by Nathan Gibson allowed Max Jones to force his way through the home defence and beat the keeper with a low shot into the net.

Micky Woodvine broke through shortly after but Didsbury keeper Ben Simpson was out quickly to hack the ball clear off his feet. And Kieran Demaine saw his curling cross cleared from the six yard box with player/manager Steve Cunningham challenging.

Colne were pushed back in the second half and after 53 minutes Steve Settle headed in the equaliser at the far post from a searching cross by Alex Baird. In the closing stages, it was Colne who pushed for a winner with Jason Hart creating a series of chances around the home goal and Chris Anderson being denied a penalty when brought down in the area.
