Barnoldswick forward Zack Dale has been named Hallmark Security League Premier Division player of the year for 2017/18.

His 34 goals and 18 man of the match awards saw the Barlick attacking midfielder claim the top prize.

The former Colne and Nelson man’s 34 goals saw him finish fifth in the leading scorer charts, helping Barlick to ninth in the standings.

Dale claimed more man of the match awards, chosen by the opposition, than any player in the division, which included picking up five in both October and April.

He missed just two games all season and was booked once.

  • Meanwhile, Matt Barnes’ men have secured the signature of goalkeeper Ryan Livesey who arrives from relegated Premier League side Maine Road.
