EAST Lancashire bragging rights are at stake tonight when Barnoldswick Town travel to the WEC Group Anchor Ground to take on Darwen.

The local derbies are coming thick and fast in the North West Counties League Premier Division, with five East Lancashire sides in the division.

While Colne are flying the flag at the top, Stewart Airdrie’s free-scoring Barlick are best of the rest in seventh before last night’s games.

Airdrie’s side were top in the early weeks of the season but have lost a bit of momentum recently and they were will be looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat at 1874 Northwich on Saturday.

It has been on the road where Barlick have struggled, with four defeats from seven games, and it is also now 12 games since they last kept a clean sheet.

AFC Darwen have lost their last four in the league, shipping 20 goals in the process, and they have slipped to 18th position as a result.

Despite scoring three times at Maine Road on Saturday they conceded five.

Padiham are only two places and two points above AFC Darwen, and they welcome Silsden, who are 19th, to the YESSS Electrical Arena tonight.

Steve Wilkes’s side picked up a point on Saturday as they held Colne to a goalless draw. And the Storks will be keen to build on that with a fourth home win against their Yorkshire visitors.
