AFC Darwen will be hoping to use their stunning 7-2 First Division Challenge Cup victory over Leek CSOB to spring a surprise on Runcorn Town tomorrow.

Kenny Langford’s side booked a last four date with with a fantastic victory at the Anchor Ground.

And they are back on the cup trail tomorrow when they visit Runcorn in the League Challenge Cup third round.

Darwen are a division below their hosts and face a tough task against a side who still harbour hopes of winning the North West Counties League Premier Division title.

In midweek, Ryan Steele netted a hat-trick while Bobby Langford weighed in with two as Darwen came from 1-0 down with a fantastic performance.

Danny Banks and Stevie Lee were also on target as Darwen hit five without reply after the tie was delicately poised at 2-2.

Struggling Bacup and Rossendale Borough welcome St Helens Town in the Premier Division in search of a win that could lift them out of the relegation places while Barnoldswick Town host Stockport Sports knowing a victory would lift them above their visitors and potentially into a top half placing.

Colne, sitting in eighth, are on their travels as they head to a Glossop North End side who are two places and 12 points better off.

In Division One, league leaders Nelson host Eccleshall.

Evo-Stik League Premier Division leaders Chorley bid to maintain their five point gap at the top of the table when they travel to Grantham Town.

There is a local derby in the First Division North where Padiham host in form Ramsbottom United.

The Rams have surged into the play-off places after a sparkling run of form while Padiham sit eight points above the bottom two and look set to survive in their first season at his level.
