DANIEL Cocks will hope to be on the scoresheet again when Bacup and Rossendale Borough host St Helens Town tomorrow – after bouncing back from a serious incident on Saturday with a goal at Silsden.

Borough’s Challenge Cup tie at Atherton Collieries was abandoned at the weekend after their captain Cocks was allegedly ‘seriously assaulted’ at half time by an opposing player.

Cocks suffered bruising to his face but recovered in time to play and score in the 2-1 win at Silsden in the North West Counties Premier Division on Wednesday night.

Brent Peters’ Borough side fell behind in West Yorkshire but Cocks levelled in the 55th minute and Matty Bryan netted the winner 10 minutes from time.

Borough now host St Helens in another league match tomorrow, hoping to improve their current league position of 18th.

Also in the Premier Division, seventh-placed Colne entertain struggling West Didsbury and Chorlton.

Barnoldswick Town are at home to Abbey Hey.

In the First Division, AFC Darwen travel to Chadderton.

Fourth-placed Nelson are in First Division Trophy action, making the trip to Daisy Hill in the first round.

The game promises goals, with Nelson netting an incredible 54 times in their opening 16 league matches.

Daisy Hill have conceded 51 in 18 league games.

Chorley travel to Soham Town Rangers in the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

Ramsbottom United make the trip to Blyth Spartans in the same competition.

Clitheroe host Prescot Cables in Evo-Stik First Division North, while Padiham entertain Farsley Celtic.
