Fixtures delayed by paperwork

THE full list of North West Counties League fixtures, which should have been released on Friday, has been delayed.
The league yesterday released their fixtures for August and for the first week in September but cannot schedule any more games until the Evo-Stik League programme is finalised.
Those fixtures were due out last week but they have been delayed and may not come out until next week.
A spokesman for the North West Counties League said: “It is frustrating for clubs and for fans but as several of our clubs share grounds with clubs from the Evo-Stik League we cannot finalise our full programme until their fixtures come out.
“We have arranged the first six weeks of games in order to help clubs plan and the remainder of fixtures will be out as soon as possible.”
The season kicks off on August 4 with Bacup Borough entertaining Winsford, Colne hosting St Helens Town and Padiham facing Runcorn Town at The Arbories, while Barnoldswick Town are on the road to Runcorn Linnets.
In the First Division Darwen head to Ashton Town and Nelson go to Irlam.
