The Welshman made his name at Burnley in the early 1970s and came back for two more spells, hitting 10 goals as the Clarets narrowly avoided dropping out of the Football League in 1986/87.

Ralph Coates

A hugely popular figure at Burnley between 1964 and 1971, helping the Clarets to third place in the First Division and making his debut for England.

Ted McMinn

A crucial addition to the Clarets squad midway through their 1993/94 promotion season, the former Derby man was in his 30s but had supreme talent.

Ashley Hoskin

His entire Football League career was with Burnley and he was a key man in helping the Clarets avoid relegation to the Conference in 1987.

Afraid I have been ill and missed the opportunity to nominate players. Traditionally we have been endowed with riches in these wide/wing positions. Just concentrating on the post war era where are:
Kippax;
Pilkington;
Harris;
Kingdon;
Thomas?
I watched The last 2 of these play when teenagers a Upton Park one night, pure magic.
