CLITHEROE blew a two-goal lead at Prescot Cables and the chance to keep in touch with the Evo-Stik First Division North play-off places.

Lloyd Dean got the Blues off to the perfect start, prodding home a George Conway cross in the fourth minute.

And when Dean repeated the trick with another close range effort a few minutes before the break, it appeared that Clitheroe were on their way to a routine victory.

But two lapses of concentration proved costly as Prescott hit back to take an unlikely share of the spoils.

The Blues had chances to extend their lead with Dean and Dean Miller both going close but with 10 minutes left, Prescot pulled one back when Gerard Murphy fired home from a partially cleared corner then, three minutes later Isaac Kusaloka turned home from close range.

Clitheroe are seventh, four points behind Darlington 1883 who occupy fifth place but have played three games more.
