GOALS could be on the agenda tonight as two East Lancashire rivals collide in an Evo-Stik League First Division North derby clash to savour.

Ramsbottom United and Clitheroe go into their clash at The Riverside (7.45pm) full of confidence and bang in form after their weekend exploits – and the game promises to be a cracker.

Ramsbottom crushed Burscough 7-1 at the Riverside on Saturday, while Clitheroe turned in one of their best displays of the season as they too hit the goal trail.

Simon Garner’s men beat Radcliffe Borough 4-0 at Shawbridge to move up into seventh spot in the table.

AFC Darwen were also winners at the weekend as they moved into the third round of the North West Counties League Challenge Cup thanks to a 3-2 win over Cheadle Town at the WEC Anchor Ground.

They are back in First Division action tonight as they hit the road to Chadderton, a side two places and one point above them in the league.

Darwen are in 14th spot going into the match – but they are on a three-match unbeaten run in all competitions under manager Kenny Langford.
