CLITHEROE were beaten 2-1 at New Mills in Evo-Stik First Division North.
The hosts led 2-0 after 15 minutes through James Hampson and Melford Knight, before Lloyd Dean pulled a goal back 12 minutes from time.
Barnoldswick Town went out of the North West Counties Challenge Cup in the second round after Cole Ashton’s fourth minute goal was enough to give Runcorn Linnets a 1-0 victory in Cheshire.
Nelson were beaten 4-3 at home to Hanley Town in the North West Counties First Division.
Ritchie Allen and George Melling put them 2-0 up after 17 minutes, and Melling scored again with 18 minutes to go to make it 3-1.
But Hanley hit back in the closing stages, grabbing an 89th-minute winner.
