SPORTING CHANCE: Brian Parker and Mark West at Chorley FC’s market stall
Chorley FC maybe be riding high in the league but the cash-strapped club have been fundraising for their “fighting fund” after recently revealing financial difficulties.
Events have taken place in the town with Magples fans, and others keen to show support.
The Chorley Group, which has car franchises across the North West, has pledged to donate £100 to the fighting fund every time it receives a referral through the club which leads to a sale.
A Black and White Day at one of Chorley's employers has also helped raise money.
Staff at Chorley Community Housing (CCH) dressed in the colours of their favourite football team and paid £2 for the privilege of showing their support for the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club.
CCH director of operations Richard Houghton said: “Staff from CCH are always very keen to help good causes and this cause is particularly close to home.
"A successful football team is good for the town and we want to see Chorley FC recover from this current difficulty and build on the great season they had last year.”
Among other events were a non-uniform day at Southlands High School where many of the children wore football kits and the club itself has taken an occasional stall on Chorley’s Covered Market.

Anderson, I'm sure your lawyers will read this.
Make no mistake, ALL the Rovers fans are united against you and your client. There is no dark conspiracy, just a fact that he is useless and is taking us down. We hate you because, in our opinion, you're a coniving cheat who has had a big hand in the destruction of our fans.
Football agents have a reputation of being dishonest people not to be trusted and you are one of the biggest football agents.
If you were a respectable person and a decent father, you wouldn't let your son stay at the Rovers, you should try to enhance his career....but you're a football agent and in my opinion you should be ashamed of yourself.
