RAMSBOTTOM United will bid to stretch their winning run to 10 games tomorrow when they welcome New Mills to the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium in the Evo-Stik League First Division North.

The red-hot Rams made it nine consecutive victories in all competitions in midweek when they won 1-0 in the north east for the second time in four days.

Their first came on Saturday when they knocked higher-division Blyth Spartans out of the FA Trophy.

And they repeated the trick in the league on Tuesday as a Philip Dean goal earned them a hard-fought victory over Darlington 1883 in front of 899 supporters at Heritage Park.

The winner came in the 31st minute when Lee Gaskell fed the lively Dean to score with an angled drive that the home goalkeeper completely misjudged.

Before tomorrow’s clash with old foes New Mills, the Rams will be presented with the First Division North’s club of the month for October.

Meanwhile, the Rams’ FA Trophy third qualifying round tie against Skrill North outfit Worcester City has been confirmed for Sunday, November 17.

The match will take place at Aggborough, the home of Kidderminster Harriers, as Worcester are currently without a ground.

Clitheroe and Padiham are also in First Division North action tomorrow.

Improving Clitheroe, who are unbeaten in three, entertain Ossett Town while Padiham are away at Radcliffe Borough.

In-form Chorley, the league’s Premier Division club of the month for October, travel to second-from-bottom Stafford Rangers.

Fresh from winning 3-1 at home to Silsden on Tuesday, Colne host Norton United in the North West Counties League Premier Division tomorrow.

Bacup & Rossendale Borough and Barnoldswick Town are away to AFC Liverpool and Winsford United respectively tomorrow.

Nelson resume their First Division title challenge at Irlam. AFC Darwen are at home to Widnes Vikings.
