CHORLEY will face a trip to Northwich Victoria or Marine in the final round of FA Cup qualifying.

The Magpies booked their place in the fourth qualifying round after a 3-2 away win over Whitley Bay on Saturday.

Should Chorley come through the tie on Saturday, October 24, they will take their place in the first round proper for the first time since 1990.

The last time Chorley reached that stage they overcame Bury before falling to Shrewsbury Town in round two.

The first round ties take place on Saturday, November 7.

And Magpies boss Matt Jansen is hoping the cup run can aid his side’s league form as they look to climb into the National League North play-off positions.

Chorley are currently 10th, four points off the top five.

“I want a good run of results,” said Jansen.

“I want to go on a run where we can build some momentum and confidence.”
