Fans of Chorley FC eagerly awaiting the new season which begins this weekend are being invited to meet the new boss at the club.

This Thursday evening in the Victory Park social club is a chance for all supporters to get to meet the new manager, Matt Jansen, as the club holds a Meet the Manager evening.

Starting at 8pm straight after training, it is an ideal opportunity for supporters to hear about Matt’s footballing philosophies and ask the new boss a question or two.

Season tickets will also be on sale ahead of the first game of the new season against Nuneaton Town on Saturday.

Following last Friday's 1-0 victory over a youthful Blackburn Rovers XI, striker Lewis Guy signed on the dotted line with the with the Magpies.

Lewis, who played for Gateshead in the Vanarama Conference last season, appeared for the Magpies in our final three pre-season games against Euxton Villa, Ashton United and Rovers.

Although he didn’t score in his three appearances he did enough to impress fans, teammates and more importantly Matt Jansen, who now has a headache over his attacking selection for the opening game against Nuneaton Town!

A a vastly experienced player he started his career at Newcastle United in the youth ranks but had to move on to break into first team football.

He has played more than 250 games in the professional game for Doncaster Rovers, Hartlepool United, Oldham Athletic, Milton Keynes Dons, Oxford City, St Mirren and Carlisle United before joined Gateshead last term.

The club have also launchrf its new online shop in time for the new Vanarama National League season.

Weeks of hard work have resulted in the clubs shop taking on its presence on the internet with WWW.CFC-DIRECT.COM.

Kit and merchandise manager Jono Gains said: "Following the new partnership we’ve signed with EV2 Sportswear we decided to give the clubs online shop a makeover, and to be fair we think it’s a massive improvement on the old shop.

"Mark Locke has worked tirelessly over the summer months putting the site together, ensuring it is secure and easy to use for the supporters.

"It is thoroughly professionally in appearance and is as good if not better than many clubs in higher leagues with big budgets; we’re sure the fans will love it and make good use of the new site.

"While the shop is getting a new web address, the club’s existing site will remain with prominent links to the shop and of course you can still call into the ‘real’ shop at the front of Victory Park.

"Over the coming weeks and months more stock will be available online but we think we’ve put together a great selection to start with."
