A black and white army will descend on Buxton on Saturday for Chorley FC’s day of destiny.

Despite a 4-0 home victory over Marine on Easter Monday, the Magpies still haven’t clinched the Evo-Stik Premier League title.

Who finishes top will be decided on the final day of the season after Bury-based rivals FC United came from two down to beat Ashton United with an injury time winner.

Two goals from James Dean, and one apiece for Darren Stephenson and Chris Almond ensure Chorley finished their home campaign in style confirming themselves as the best home team this season.

The Magpies’ win means AFC Fylde and Worksop Town cannot now finish in top spot; so the top two will now face away trips next Saturday.

FC United will play at Barwell at the same time the Magpies play in Buxton.

Chorley will travel to Buxton with their destiny in their own hands, a win or at least match FC United result and Chorley will win the league.

Monday's attendance of 2,138 saw the total number of spectators who passed through the Victory Park gates reach 21,833 meaning this season’s average home league attendance is 949, up by more than 48 per cent on last seasons average of 637.

Chorley FC fans are being treated to a discount on the official away travel for the final game of the season.

The club have secured a deal with Bolton company BSS Coaches to offer fans a chance to travel to Buxton for just £5.

Kit and merchandise manager Jonathan Gains said: “The support this season for the Supporters Trust travel has drastically improved compared to previous seasons.

“We took over 100 fans on coaches to Vauxhall Motors and more than 250 fans to the memorable away tie at Tamworth in the FA Trophy.

“A special thanks for this improvement must go to BSS Coaches who we have gained a strong link with this season. They are reliable and offer a friendly service but most of all are flexible and cater fantastically for all our needs which is great.”

Book early to avoid disappointment. To reserve your seat ring Cath Still on 07866 774624.

Please note as with all Supporters Trust coaches there will be no alcohol permitted on the coach.

The coaches will be departing from Duke Street at 12.30pm.
