THE wait is over for Magpies fans as the new Vanarama Conference North fixtures have been announced.

Matt Jansen's side got their preparations off to a good start with a 5-0 victory against local rivals Euxton Villa and they will continue their pre-season programme with the Jack Kirkland Trophy on Saturday against Preston North End.

However, ex-Blackburn Rovers ace Jansen admits the fixture list for the new season has handed them a tasty opening day fixture against FC United of Manchester on August 6.

He said: "I just can't wait for the season to start and what a great opening game hosting FC United of Manchester.

"I'm sure there will be a great crowd and we are looking to get off to a winning start.

"Looking through the fixtures there are a lot of good teams throughout and a tough Christmas with back-to-back games with AFC Fylde."

The club have an away game against recently relegated Kidderminster Harriers (August 13) then host Bradford Park Avenue on (August 16) and BostonUnited (August 20) followed by a trip to Darlington 1883 on August 24.

They end our league season at home on April 29th when FC Halifax Town are the visitors.
