CHORLEY boss Garry Flitcroft has urged his side to start taking points off the teams above them as they seek to close the gap on the play-off places.

Flitcroft was left ruing individual mistakes after the Magpies were beaten 3-2 by Bradford Park Avenue on Wednesday night, but they have a chance to bounce back tomorrow when second place AFC Fylde visit Victory Park.

Flitcroft believes his side are mentally strong enough to bounce back from the weekend disappointment.

“I don’t have to pick them up, they’re a good set of lads,” he said. “We’ve got games in hand and if we can take three points off teams above us then we’re not going to be far short.”

Flitcroft has put the Magpies’ recent wobbles down to the fact he has not had a settled back four all season, and he will have to make a late call on the fitness of Chris Doyle for the game against the Coasters.

In the Evo-Stik League Premier Division, Ramsbottom will be aiming for a quickfire double when Stourbridge visit.

Jon Robinson’s men secured their first league win since October when they won the midweek clash between the two sides.

In Division One North, Clitheroe will be hoping to build momentum ahead of Monday’s Lancashire Challenge Trophy final with Chorley when they visit Spennymoor Town. Bottom of the table Padiham visit Harrogate Railway Athletic.
