JEFF Hendrick would ‘love’ to see Robbie Brady join him at Burnley as the Clarets up their bid for the Norwich wide man to £13million.

The deal put to the Canaries would see Brady replace childhood friend Hendrick as Burnley’s record signing.

But Hendrick would just be happy to see his former St Kevin’s Boys teammate join him at Turf Moor, taking the Irish connection to three with Stephen Ward.

They have played together through the Dublin youth side since they were boys and have progressed through the ranks with the Republic of Ireland as well, and Hendrick is in no doubt about the quality Brady could bring if Burnley can complete a deal.

“We lived five minutes away from each other, and played with each other until we were about 16,” Hendrick said.

“We played at every age group up with Ireland, we roomed together as well.

“We enjoy each other’s company, the decision is his at the end of the day but I’d love to have him here.

“He’s a great player and can play in a few positions. He works hard and has quality on the ball.”

Hendrick and Brady, who are both 25, remain in close contact and the former Derby County midfielder is hoping he can help persuade the Norwich City man to opt for Turf Moor, with Bournemouth also thought to be keen.

“I text him a lot and talk to him, we grew up together, I’ve known him since I was seven, so we have a lot of different conversations,” he said.

“For me personally it would be brilliant to have another friend here, I think he’d help the squad as well, he’s a great player.

“At the end of the day, the decision is his, hopefully he sees this and sees how much I want him to come here.”

One Norwich City wide man who won’t be making the move to Turf Moor is Alex Pritchard.

National media have continued to link Burnley with a move for the former Tottenham winger, but the Lancashire Telegraph understands they have no interest in the 23-year-old.

And Canaries boss Alex Neil also dismissed the speculation yesterday.

He said: “There is nothing in that. Absolutely not. We have had no interest for him from anyone.”
