TOM Heaton looks set to be in contention for a return between the posts against Bournemouth after the Burnley captain resumed training.

The 30-year-old has missed the last two games for the Clarets with a calf injury, but he is back with the first-team squad at Gawthorpe and could resume duties against Bournemouth on Saturday.

But hamstring victim Johann Berg Gudmundsson will once again be absent against the Cherries.

“He's had a good few days, we'll wait and see. As long as there's no reaction he'll be back in contention," Dyche said of his skipper.

“It's different training with the physios to training with the team."

The visit of Bournemouth will see former Clarets boss Eddie Howe return to Turf Moor for the second time since he left the club to return to the south coast in October 2012.

Dyche believes Howe's side have changed in recent seasons and they have become a harder side to beat as a result.

“To be be fair to Eddie a couple of years ago before they got promoted I think he changed things, I watched some of their games and they were tighter out of position," he said.

“The team I took over here was expansive out of possession and in possession, that's changed. He'd obviously done some work with his team to allow that to happen.

“I thought against Liverpool you saw them get the ball forward, they got a goal from a long throw from a centre back. We've all got to move forward, challenge our group to get results no matter how they come. He's done a very good job of that let alone the bigger picture he's done with the whole club."
