DEAN Marney, Stephen Ward and Kevin Long have all signed new one-year contract extensions at Burnley.

All three players were out of contract at the end of the season but have now committed their futures to Turf Moor until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Marney and Long are the two longest-serving players in the current first team squad at Turf Moor, having arrived in 2010.

Marney, 32, made his 200th Clarets appearance on the final day of last season as Burnley won 3-0 at Charlton to stroll to the Championship title, and he has been a regular so far back in the Premier League.

He made 20 top flight appearances two years ago until his season was ended by a cruciate knee ligament injury picked up at home to West Brom.

Former Republic of Ireland U21 defender Long, 26, who joined from Cork City, made his Premier League debut for the Clarets in their last top flight campaign in the 3-3 draw at Newcastle, but having come off the bench in the first half he then suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury just before half time.

He has made 27 first team appearances for the club and has had three loans spells with Accrington Stanley, and enjoyed further spells with Rochdale, Portsmouth, Barnsley and MK Dons.

Republic of Ireland full back Ward, 31, was a summer signing from Wolves in 2014, and has since made 42 appearances for the Clarets.

He was instrumental in the 23-game unbeaten run that landed the Championship title last May, and in the summer he became the first Burnley player to represent their country at a European Championships finals.
