BURNLEY have not received a new bid for defender Michael Keane from Premier League champions Leicester City and it understood the Foxes are not lining up an imminent final offer.

Claudio Ranieri's side have not been back with an improved offer since the Clarets turned down a bid that could eventually have reached £15million at the start of last week.

While City are unlikely to have entirely shelved their interest in the 23-year-old, they are not at a point where they are willing to increase that offer at the moment.

Burnley remain determined to hang on to former England Under-21 international Keane, who made 44 appearances as Sean Dyche's side won the Championship title last season.

The Foxes see him as an ideal signing to increase the pressure on established defensive pair Wes Morgan and Robert Huth.

Keane played 27 times in a loan spell at the King Power Stadium in the 2012/13 season, a campaign which ended in a play-off semi-final defeat, and he is known to be highly-rated by Leicester's head of recruitment Steve Walsh.
