BURNLEY will welcome Italian side Hellas Verona to Turf Moor ahead of their Premier League opener with Chelsea.

The Clarets will host the Serie A side on Saturday, August 9, with a 3pm kick off, nine days before the season-opening visit of Jose Mourinho’s Blues.

The Italians will be the second European side to visit Burnley in a matter of days with Spanish side Celta Vigo travelling to the Turf on Tuesday, August 5.

The game will conclude Burnley’s pre-season programme which began with an 8-0 friendly win over FC Grossklein on Sunday and continues this weekend with a trip to Accrington Stanley.
