It's 'All White' for Howieson as midfielder becomes Burnley's youngest international

CAMERON Howieson last night became Burnley’s youngest international, after making his debut for New Zealand.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder came off the bench in the 72nd minute of their 2-2 draw with El Salvador, in a friendly played in Houston, Texas, to earn his first senior Kiwis cap.

The Clarets youth star, who signed a two-year professional contract before the end of last season, was called up for New Zealand’s tour of the United States, which also includes a friendly against Honduras in Dallas on Saturday.

The All Whites are preparing for next month’s Oceania Round Two qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup.

Howieson will hope to be involved in games against Fiji, Papua New Guinea and host nation the Solomon Islands between June 2 and 10.
