Shackell delight at skip role

JASON Shackell says he is honoured to have been named as the new captain of Burnley.
The 28-year-old centre back was installed as skipper in place of Chris McCann last week, having recently arrived from Derby County.
Shackell was previously captain with Derby, Barnsley and Norwich and said: “Being captain here is a massive honour for me and a lot of responsibility.
“But that’s something I’m looking forward to and hopefully can relish.
“It’s nothing new to me because I’ve been captain at a few clubs now and I’ve gained valuable experience, so hopefully I can help the boys and maintain a good standard of football myself.”

we have lacked a leader at the back for a long time, someone to organise the defence and shout at the midfield etc. A valuable addition as he also takes the responsibility from Chris McCann and allows him to just play his normal game.
Still can't blame him for having a go at it, as the saying goes "better to have tried, than never having a tried at all" etc.
