Burnley complete Mills loan deal

BURNLEY have completed the signing of Reading left back Joseph Mills on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old has previously represented Southampton, Scunthorpe and Doncaster, and becomes the Clarets' fourth signing of the summer after Luke O'Neill, George Porter and Jason Shackell.

He is the younger brother of centre back Matt Mills, who recently moved to Bolton from Leicester. Burnley face Bolton at Turf Moor on the opening day of the season on August 18.

No WUM intended but it is a shame that Burnley just cannot compete in the transfer market anymore, like they could a couple of years ago. Aside from Shackell, the rest of these players really aren't going to help keep Burnley in the league.

Same is happening at Rovers and at Preston, it's a shame for the whole area as the quality of derby matches just isn't the same as it was when Burnley were in the Prem, for instance.

We all seem to be flogging our best players and replacing them with much lesser quality players. Sad times all round.
