Apologies for posting on the Youth Cup thread but...

Was at the Spurs Bolton game last night and Nelsen was outstanding. In fact looked just the sort of centre half we could have done with against the very same Bolton last Saturday. Has anybody heard of a reason why he was allowed to leave when we desparately need an solid experienced centre-half?
Also little comment/criticism on Kean not being given the money to fund 2 months wages for Zenden when the own@rs have just pocketed £10/£12 million for Samba (not that I rate Zenden but that's not the point).

Once again about time the LET asked some meaningful questions.

Well done Youth team, fantastic result.
Totally agree! What explanation has been given for the bizarre way in which Ryan Nelsen, having been unfit since Sept 2011, suddenly reappeared hours before the transfer deadline in January, passed a medical at Spurs and leaves us for nothing. Probably cost us dearly at the weekend. Congratulations to the Youths. The owners don't deserve them."

FULL-TIME: Burnley 1, Blackburn Rovers 2 (1-3 on agg)

THE FA Youth Cup semi-final second leg between Burnley and Blackburn Rovers at Turf Moor resulted in a win for the visitors, and a place in the final.

After a goalless first half, Hugo Fernandez broke the deadlock in the 55th minute, giving Rovers a 2-0 lead on aggregate.

Osayamen Osawe's initial shot was blocked by Alex Coleman, but the ball ran free for winger Fernandez, who fired a low shot across goalkeeper Joshua Cook into the bottom right corner.

Ryan Edwards doubled their lead on the night three minutes later, straight from a long range free kick that, making it almost an impossible task for the hard-working home side.

But Burnley refused to give up, and were awarded a penalty in the 85th minute, after Adam Henley handled Luke Conlan's left-wing cross.

Blackburn goalkeeper Matthew Urwin was booked for knocking the ball off the spot as Steven Hewitt waited to take it. But the midfielder refused to be put off and finished well for a hard-earned consolation.

Rovers will meet the winners of Manchester United v Chelsea in a two-legged final.
