Burnley defender Clarke Carlisle has joined Northampton Town on loan until the end of the season.
The 2009 Wembley winner has retuned to Turf Moor after having his loan spell at Preston North End terminated through mutual consent.
And Carlisle has instantly agreed terms with the Cobblers in a deal that will see the 32-year-old remain at Sixfields until the summer, when his current Turf Moor deal expires.
