Nick Pope 7
Mis-hit one clearance in the first half but very solid aside from that and deserved to be on winning side for save from Sims
Matt Lowton 7
Rarely troubled defensively by Nathan Redmond and put in a couple of good crosses
Kevin Long 7
Might have been fouled by Gabbiadini for the goal, but another solid and comfortable performance
Ben Mee 8 (Man of the Match)
Made one terrific first half bloke back on the line to deny Tadic and had £19million Carrillo in his pocket all afternoon. Must have impressed watching England manager. Good captaincy after the goal as well to calm Barnes down.
Stephen Ward 7
Fine second half block on Redmond as he read a Saints corner routine. Settled straight back into the side.
Aaron Lennon 6
Chances came his way first half but he couldn’t take them. Put the cross in that led to the goal but drifted out of the game at times
Jack Cork 7
Kept the ball moving and took up some good defensive positions. Settling into a new partnership with Westwood
Ashley Westwood 7
Very unlucky with the goal and an encouraging performance aside from that. Good in possession
Johann Berg Gudmundsson 7
One excellent through ball for Hendrick and continues to look lively and Burnley’s most creative weapon
Jeff Hendrick 6
Didn’t deserve some of the stick he got. Took up some good positions in final third and played a role in goal
Ashley Barnes 7
A typical Barnes goal? Just threw himself at the ball, all about desire. A handful for Saints defence
