MATCH of the Day pundit Phil Neville has hailed Burnley's evolution in style this season and questioned why Sean Dyche would want to leave Turf Moor at the moment.

Neville and Alan Shearer dissected the Clarets' 2-0 win over Swansea City at Turf Moor on Saturday night and former Manchester United man Neville was impressed with what he saw from the hosts.

The pundits analysed Jack Cork's impressive opening goal, with the game shown seventh of eight fixtures, and Neville said: "I think they're evolving their style at this moment in time.

"I saw a goal they scored earlier in the season against Everton with 24 passes and this is something similar.

"(James) Tarkowski gets the ball and in the past Burnley would have looked for a big man in the channels but now they've got better players, they're playing with a better style and more confidence.

"They've got width on the pitch and they create space. It's a fantastic goal, Cork starts it, (Ashley) Barnes lays it off and Sean Dyche said after the game it was like Bryan Robson arriving late in the box and it was, he timed his run superbly.

"It's the style that Burnley are playing now that is so impressive."

Dyche has continued to be linked with the vacant Everton post, but former Toffees man Neville doesn't see why Dyche would want to leave the Clarets at this stage.

"I wouldn't leave if I was Sean Dyche," he said. "Why would you want to leave when you have a team progressing like Burnley?"
