Nick Pope 7 (Man of the Match)

Made saves with hands, feet and body, an impressive combination. Unlucky to concede the penalty. Perhaps an argument he could have stayed on his feet, but he had just sprung up from saving from De Bruyne. And it wasn’t a penalty anyway.

Matt Lowton 5

A thankless task against the pacy Sane, who is full of running. Caught inside for third goal as City moved the ball quickly.

James Tarkowski 7

Booked for his angry response to Bernardo’s dive. Made one block with his face, which was going wide, but sums his approach up.

Ben Mee 6

Out-jumped by Otamendi for the second goal, but defended well aside from that and kept a close eye on Aguero

Stephen Ward 7

Had an easier time of it than Lowton, with Bernardo drifting inside. Got forward well when he could.

Robbie Brady 6

A game that was difficult to influence. Corner delivery early in the second half almost found Tarkowski.

Jack Cork 6

Couple of wayward first half passes, but battle diligently against City’s midfield and tried to keep Burnley playing.

Steven Defour 5

Like Cork tried to get on the ball, but didn’t see much of it. Should have cleared Otamendi’s header off the line.

Scott Arfield 6

Worked hard defensively but contribution in attack was limited, aside from a first half shot deflected over.

Jeff Hendrick 6

Pressed City’s defence when they had the ball but again didn’t see much of the ball.

Chris Wood 6

Did brilliantly to create half an opening for himself, but injured in the process and withdrawn on 20 minutes

Ashley Barnes for Wood (20) 6

Did his best to hold the ball up but couldn’t offer the same threat as Wood, allowing City to push up.
