Obviously it’s a big blow as he’s so consistent and is one of the best keepers in the country but from what I’ve seen of Nick Pope, he looks a worthy stand-in.

This is the reason why we have quality in reserve. We still may need to bring someone in reserve for Pope though at short notice which could cause a problem for Sean.

Let’s just hope Tom isn’t out of action for too long.

Losing our skipper, leader and arguably most consistent player is always going to be a huge blow.

We now go to Anfield in two days without our best goalkeeper, centre back, midfielder and striker in recent years and we've not really replaced them.

However I think we've all learned as fans that it is best to trust Sean Dyche. Nick Pope has waited for his chance to pull on the 'No. 1' jersey for a while now. It's time for him to step up to the plate.

As much as I think Nick Pope will be OK, I think we'd all be kidding ourselves if we didn't acknowledge that it is a huge blow for us. Not just his ability between the sticks but his influence and organisation on the team is a great loss.

I think he gives the rest of the team added confidence and the belief that we can win games because we are pretty much solid at the back.

We need to get behind Pope now, though. He made a great save from Benteke so hopefully that gives him confidence in the coming matches.
