TENDAYI Darikwa is set to leave Burnley in the wake of Phil Bardsley's arrival at Turf Moor.
The 32-year-old's £750,000 move from Stoke City has left Darikwa surplus to requirements and he is closing in on a move to home town team Nottingham Forest.
With Matt Lowton competing with Bardsley for the right-back slot Darikwa was likely to find opportunities at Turf Moor limited, and he didn't make a single Premier League appearance for the Clarets last season.
Darikwa wasn't involved in Burnley's win at Preston on Tuesday night and after Sean Dyche confirmed he was set to move on, having made 29 appearances in two years at Burnley.
"There’s a strong possibility on that, we’re waiting on a couple of situations that may arise," Dyche said of Darikwa's departure.
"But the main thing for me is continuing to add to the group and add to the quality of the group and I think Phil Bardsley will do that."
Darikwa could make his Forest debut on Saturday when Burnley travel to the City Ground.
